GOOGLE ADS Vs FACEBOOK ADS - What Works Better for Businesses?

Google Ads Vs Facebook Ads :-

The simple answer, both are very effective when done right. But I am taking the liberty to write an elaborate answer explaining the basics first, details next and some trivia in the end.

google ads vs facebook ads

  • Google AdWords and Facebook ads are both paid online marketing platforms
  • AdWords primarily gets users from Google search engine. Relevant ads are displayed when users search for a product or service
  • Facebook gets you traffic from users who are browsing their Facebook feed. The ads are targeted based on what these users are
  • In other words, AdWords gets customers who are trying to reach out to businesses whereas in Facebook, you can reach out to your potential customers directly.

AdWords shows ads to a user when they search for a product/service on Google search or display network, or on any Google partners websites. If you are advertising for a product or service that is already existing in the market, and is on a high demand regularly (people look for it), AdWords will be extremely effective.

eg : crm software, running shoe, dui attorney, buy house are some keywords which have been found to be extremely effective in their respective industries.

Facebook shows ads to users that are defined by the advertiser. Ads are shown in various locations on Facebook and Instagram. You can define audiences like single men who are aged between 20 and 25 who are interested in fitness. Facebook works best if you know whom you are selling.

  • Google AdWords - With more than 3 billion searches per day, AdWords, when used wisely, can potentially connect an advertiser to about 90% of all the internet users. With new features rolling out regularly, Google, despite all the competition and critics, has maintained AdWords as a profitable advertising platform for advertisers.
  • Facebook Ads - Being the largest social media platform, Facebook is doing good over 1.5 billion active users per month. User profiling has been a key for Facebook’s success in attracting a large number of marketers.
